❌ MYTH: Harder polyurethane always provides longer service life. ✅ FACT: PU hardness should be selected according to the specific application. Heavy-load wheels may require higher hardness to support loads and reduce deformation, while drive rollers may need a balanced hardness to provide sufficient grip and wear resistance. Snubber and conveyor rollers require hardness based on load, speed and surface contact, whereas PU dampers may use softer grades for better cushioning and vibration absorption. Slitting line and guide rollers also require carefully selected hardness to maintain dimensional stability and consistent contact during operation. Therefore, choosing the right PU hardness for the right application is more important than simply choosing a harder material.
